Limbs
Limbs is the second in a series of Trellis. The inspiration was from a photo taken in Africa of a gnarly tree in the Wildlife preserve in South Africa. I enlarged the photo and added additional branches. The back ground is fused from numerous types of fabric and quilted in a grid. The limbs are stitched extensively. The edges around the limbs are painted with red acrylic paints to give a shadow effect.
Limbs was exhibited in a SAQA special Exhibit at the Mancuso Mid Atlantic Quilt Show in 2012
