Basic sewing supplies:  scissors, ruler, seam ripper, chalk marker, pins, hand sewing needle, thimble etc

You may bring a rotary cutter and board, but it is easier with a pair of scissors.

Sewing machine cleaned and oiled, sewing machine manual, extra needles, tool used to replace needles, extension cord

Pen and paper

Batiks make a lovely bag, but any fabric will work.  I caution using upholstery fabric, if you have not sewn with it before.  Might be great for the second bag.

Thread to match fabric

5 inches of Velcro

1 yard of 45 inch fabric or  ½  yard of  54 inch fabric depending if using upholstery fabric which is wider.

If the fabric is laundered, use spray starch when iron so the crispness will be restored

½ yard of 45 inch fabric or ¼ yard of 54 inch fabric

24 x 24 inch heavy interfacing or batting.
