Finished bag measurements: 8x10x4

Basic sewing supplies:  scissors, ruler, seam ripper, chalk marker, pins, hand sewing needle, thimble etc

You may bring a rotary cutter and board, but it is easier with a pair of scissors.

Sewing machine cleaned and oiled, sewing machine manual, extra needles, tool used to replace needles, extension cord

Pen and paper

Batiks make a lovely bag, but any fabric will work.  I caution using upholstery fabric, if you have not sewn with it before.  Might be great for the second bag.

Thread to match fabric

¼ yard for handles

1/2 yard for pockets

2/3 yard for bag and lining

2 cotton batting pieces 11x15 inches

1 hair elastic to complement fabric—this is the closure

1 inch button

If the fabric is laundered, use spray starch when iron so the crispness will be restored.
