I do wearable art and fiber art trunk shows.  The show lasts 1 to 1.5 hours depending on the questions and input from the group.  I have numerous items that I show and talk about. 

Trunk Shows Cost: $240 and travel expenses

"My journey as a wearable artist" and   "What is fiber art?"

Work shops: $215 Cost for 15 people; $10 for each extra person.  In a large class room I can teach 20-25 people.

Fleece Scarves

Polar fleece is very easy to work with because it does not fray--so edges do not always need to be finished.  The product is soft, warm, cozy, washable and dryable.  Fleece is 60 inches wide and relatively inexpensive.  Each class will show the student 6 different scarves--most can be finished in class.

DIY jean jacket embellishment

  Using a purchased jean jacket or vest learn to embellish with fabric motifs, beads, trim, buttons and anything else you wish to add. The jacket was found at a thrift shop. The motifs were in the fabric stash.  Fabric motifs can be applied with fusible web and embellished by machine or hand

 Sweatshirt Jacket

Turning a sweatshirt into a jacket is discussed and each step is demonstrated.  The fitting of the  jacket is done before the  patchwork is added to the front.  Working with a muslin foundation and placement and embellishment of the patches is discussed and demonstration.  Front closure and fabric band for button holes  is taught.

Strip Pieced jacket

Correct pattern fitting is emphasized.  The garment is work on a foundation fabric.  Adding a collar cuffs, lining and piping is demonstrated and discussed.  Decorative embellishment is discussed.  The jacket is strip pieced with strips of fabric inserted between the rows. The cuffs and collar are free motion stitched with variegated  decorative thread; hundreds of hand made French knots were added for accent.  The collar and cuffs are finished with coordinating piping.

 Vest

 Using a vest pattern that has been fitted to the body, a unique vest is created.  Fitting techniques are discussed as well as design for the vest.   Lining and beading techniques are discussed.   A great class for beginners or experienced garment makers.

Fabric Jewelry

Make beautiful necklaces from fabric roses and beads.  Techniques are taught for the completion of the project and individual choices are encouraged when creating the jewelry.
