No Way Out—Slice and
Dice Series
Supplies:
When choosing fabrics, think about the color wheel and how the colors will relate to each other.
Complementary
colors: select 2 colors that lie opposite each other on the wheel. Analogous
color: select one color. Then include 1, 2 or 3 neighboring color from each
side of your selected color. Split complementary: this combines the
complementary colors and the analogous colors. Select a color and the
neighboring colors plus the color on the opposite side of the wheel. Triadic;
select a color and the colors that lie equal distance from each other on the
color wheel. Examples: Complementary: purple and yellow green. Analogous:
blue violet, violet, red violet, purple, fuchsia, magenta, and blue red.
Split complementary: magenta, fuchsia, purple, red violet, violet plus yellow
green. Triadic: Orange yellow, aqua green and purple. The split complementary
color scheme is a good one to use for this project.
