I also give wearable art trunk shows.  The show can last 1 to 1.5 hours depending on the questions and input from the group.  I have numerous garments that I show and talk about.  Cost: $200 and travel expenses(2008).  Cost: $220 and travel expenses(2009).  Cost: $200 and travel expenses (2010).

Work shops Cost: $175 (2008).  $195 (2009).  $210 (2010)  for 15 people.  $10 extra for additional students

Sweatshirt Extraordinaire

A basic sweatshirt is disassembled and couched with yarn and lined with polyester fabric.  The sweatshirt is fitted to the student's body and sewn back together.  Crochet closures and buttons complete the jacket that is sure to be a unique piece of wearable art. Beginners to Advanced sewers.

Basic jacket with needle lace

A basic jacket pattern is used, a muslin mock up is individually fitted for each student.  Each step of the jacket construction is discussed and demonstrated.  Lining a jacket with binding is taught. Closures and needle lace embellishment is discussed and demonstrated.

Crazy Sweatshirt Jacket

Turning a sweatshirt into a jacket is discussed and each step is demonstrated.  The fitting of the  jacket is done before the  patchwork is added to the front.  Working with a muslin foundation and placement and embellishment of the patches is discussed and demonstration.  Front closure and fabric band for button holes  is taught.

Fat Quarter Jacket

A simple jacket pattern is fitted from a muslin mock up for each student.  Short cuts are discussed.  The arrangement of the fabric pieces is discussed and options are given Individuality and Creativity is encouraged in each student.  Each step of the jacket construction is carefully demonstrated and discussed, including lining a jacket, collar construction and closures.   One day class for

Raw-edged pieced sweatshirt jacket

Creation of a jacket from a sweatshirt is demonstrated and discussed.  Using the patches in a creative and individual way is suggested.  Binding, closures and jacket construction is discussed and demonstrated.  Cost $175 for a one day class and $250 for a two day class for 15 people

Sweatshirt jacket with pockets or Sweatshirt with zipper

Construction of a jacket from a sweatshirt is demonstrated as well as the adding of tucks for better fit, sleeve shirring and pockets. OR Construct a sweatshirt jacket with a zipper and sleeve shirring and tucks.

Strip Pieced jacket

Correct pattern fitting is emphasized.  The garment is work on a foundation fabric.  Adding a collar cuffs, lining and piping is demonstrated and discussed.  Decorative embellishment is discussed.

Watercolor vest

The vest fronts are made from 2 inch floral squares stitched to a muslin base and gridded interfacing.  The raw edges are covered with fusible bias tape.  Lining options are taught.

Twisted Vest    

   The fabric is twisted and prepared before cutting out the pattern.  Stitching and tucking are added by machine.  The vest front is hand beaded.  Lining options are taught and a unique wearable is created.

A vest is only as good as it fits

          Students learn to fit a basic vest pattern and cut a muslin shell.  A vest is created using whatever fabric and techniques the student desires.

Raw Edge Appliqued Abstract Vest

Students create an abstract design on the foundation fabric.  Using a vest pattern that has beenfitted to their body, create a unique vest.  Lining and beading techniques are discussed.
